Grandad (again)

Just been to visit Sarah who gave birth to my new Grandson on Sunday. Arrived 5 weeks early but looking in excellent health. Has given the builders quite a shock, they thought they had plenty of time to get the extension finished!

Springtime in Malvern

Sunny day, gave up on gardening and grabbed my camera instead and went to Peachfield Common and six acre field.

Paris

A quick trip to Paris with Roz and Matthew. We stayed at our usual hotel (Hotel College De France), very convenient for the Metro from the Airport or Gare du Nord. 500 Yards from Notre Dame and the Pantheon. Dis the usual sights. great excitement on the noddy train up to Montmatre when the engine overheated and it ground to a halt.

Back from Holiday

Just back from a holiday blobbing  in Crete. Hotel was excellent – especially selected by Katherine who has previous on it. Right on the beach. Clear skies and sun all day except the last when, boy did it rain. We were totally soaked when we had to drag our bags through a river to get to the coach to get home.

Did the Samaria gorge. Guide book rates it as ‘strenuous’. I was barely able to walk the next day and it took 3 days intensive rest (with extensive alcoholic treatment) before I was back to normal. Clearly a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.

Lupin time

Just been doing some gardening. Don’t the lupins look happy. Potatoes coming up well and the peas are just starting to come through. Good news, the pea we though was dead is alive:

Gordon is alive!
